Homme de théâtre et auteur-compositeur français né en Algérie et vivant à Edmonton, Bernard Salva interprète textes et musiques de son cru. Il est rejoint ici par deux compagnons musicaux. A l’ouest, à l’accordéon et au piano, Jason Kodie, bien connu sur la scène musicale albertaine et nationale, en particulier avec les groupes Allez Ouest et Captain Tractor. De l’autre côté de l’Atlantique, le français Julien Coulon, premier prix de guitare classique mais dont l’horizon musical est aussi pétri des ambiances du bassin méditerranéen : bouzouki, guitare espagnole flamenca, basse acoustique. Les musiques nous entraînent dans une caravane qui traverse l’Afrique du Nord, l’Espagne, la France et le Canada. Les textes soignés évoquent un univers amoureux ou du voyage. At the crossroads between three continents (North Africa, France, and Canada), Salva Nomade Trio is inspired by chanson française, Leonard Cohen, latin and oriental influences. The french actor, songwriter and performer Bernard Salva, now based in Edmonton spent his childhood in Algeria before moving to Bordeaux then Paris. He is joined by two musical companions. From western Canada the talented franco-albertan Jason Kodie (accordion and piano). Sought after musician provincially and nationally, Jason is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer (Allez Ouest, Captain Tractor, Le Fuzz), as well as a sound designer for theatre including six productions with L'Unithéâtre and one with Trouble –Fête Théâtre, Bernard Salva’s theatre company. From France the virtuoso french guitarist Julien Coulon (classical and flamenco Spanish guitar, bouzouki, acoustic bass). Based in Paris, Julien won a first award in classical guitar but is now dedicated to the playing of numerous oriental instruments from mediterranean countries, specially the arabian-andaluz ones. Salva Nomade trio will drive you through sensual and emotional lyrics to an evening mixing folk, french musette and ballades, latino, bossa nova and gypsy sounds.
