Often referred to as Southern Alberta’s Gentle Giant of Country Music, Trevor Panczak has been writing, singing and performing since he was 14 years old. Back then it was in a band with his late father Johnny Panczak. Now, with over one thousand performances under his belt, the 28-year old UFA employee has released his new CD titled Roll On. “Working with the likes of Mike Clute (Nashville producer), Steve Bogard (songwriter), and Ron Sakamoto (promoter) has been a tremendous experience.” says Panczak. “I’m very fortunate to be able to work in the same circle as these great industry moguls.”

Raised on a farm near Magrath, Alberta, Canada, Trevor recently accomplished a Canadian first by advancing to the National final of the 26th annual Colgate Country Showdown in Nashville, Tennessee. Trevor was one of 5 finalists from Americas largest Country Music talent search and competed for the $100,000 dollar prize January 24th 2008 at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Trevor placed second. “I felt like a winner just being there, what an honor to sing on the Ryman stage,” says Panczak.

Besides the Colgate Country Showdown Trevor has also excelled in other competitions, winning the Country Vocal Spotlight at the C.F.R. in Edmonton (2000) and the Calgary Stampede Youth Talent Showdown (1999).

He has opened for many acts including Ian Tyson, Dan Seals, Aaron Lines, Julian Austin, George Canyon, Jimmy Rankin, & Keith Urban. Describing his style, the “gentle giant” uses clever lyrics and laid back humour to capture audiences’ hearts wherever he performs. A popular local “celebrity”, Trevor has never wavered from his small town values and upbringing. He is continuously partnering with local charities to ensure the betterment of their communities. $1 from each Roll On album sale is donated to the Ronald McDonald House children’s charity.
