John Towill teaches at Alberta College Conservatory of Music studios in downtown Edmonton, southside Edmonton and St. Albert. With over twenty-five years experience as a teacher and performer, John has the knowledge and expertise to teach students of all abilities, from beginning to advanced. Lessons are fun and informal, with an emphasis on basic elements of music, such as time, tone, theory and creativity.

John is also a free-lance musician on electric bass guitar and didgeridoo. In addition to live performances, he has recorded and performed for both radio and television. His resume includes recording credits on over thirty CDs. John's musical influences include classical, folk, Cajun, roots, jazz, country, rock, and rhythm and blues. He currently plays bass with Sony recording artist Adam Gregory.

John has performed at major venues and festivals throughout Canada, the United States and abroad, and has recently returned from playing festivals and concerts in Holland and Lithuania.
