Those Are Them

Forming a band in the summer of 2011 with three musicians in a basement hasn’t proved to be much of a challenge for Those Are Them, a melodic hardcore band from Edmonton, AB. The band fuses together elements of different genres such as metalcore, rock, dub-step, and more. With lots of song writing to figure out exactly what direction the band wanted to take, they went from a group of friends practicing in a basement to a six piece energetic band, playing shows and getting known in the western Canadian scene and also on the internet.

After releasing themselves to the public, playing their first show in January 2012, and having experienced doing everything themselves by booking shows themselves, independently recording a self titled demo consisting of three of the first few songs written by the band, and their strong live performance, Those Are Them is starting to gain a solid fan base both in their hometown, and online.

The band not only wants people to enjoy what they hear when listening to the music, but they also aim to gain success by making a positive impact on people and anyone who listens to them or watches them live. Though it is fun to play local shows in Edmonton and throughout Alberta, Those Are Them is eager to break out of the local scene and expand to other cities and countries, meet new people and take their music as far as they can.

Those Are Them has shared the stage with many bands such as Architects, Structures, A Sight For Sewn Eyes, Blind Witness, Betrayal, Cleanse Kill, BATTLESHIP!, Behold! The City and many more. With the little amount of time the band has been in the scene, the effort and hard work the band puts in has gained interest from certain clothing companies and sponsors, many promotors, and even a couple industry professionals.

The band has recently finished recording their debut EP with Greg Wright and Alex Hachey at Hillbilly Wizard Sound in Edmonton, AB. This past year, the band has played all over Alberta gaining a strong reputation and fan base. With upcoming touring plans to follow the release of their debut EP in spring 2013, who knows what will happen next.
