Arcane Saints

"A rich blend of classic metal, blues and grunge. Big market for this sound I should think." - Simone (Beat Magazine)

As a relative of Iron Maiden founding member Steve Harris, music was always in singer/guitarist Michael John's blood. Although born in the UK, he grew up in New Zealand and began writing his own songs as a teenager.

After winning an international song writing competition Michael spent the prize money on a wild night of debauchery and a one way ticket to Melbourne, Australia. Shortly afterwards, he formed Arcane Saints.

Following a few early line up changes, youth prison guard Jim Luxford was recruited on bass. As well as having strong bass chops, Jim also had singing ability and became back up singer. Michael "Sheep" Gooding joined the band as lead guitarist after impressing them with his guitar skills and rock n'roll hair. Seven different drummers came and went before the band finally found their ideal power house drummer in Sam Sablinskis.

Arcane Saints have become an explosive hard rock force. They are a band who want their music to reach as many people as possible but will never gave up their ideal that music should come from a place of absolute honesty and integrity.

The band are not afraid to take risks and tour "off the beaten track." During a recent tour of China the band were spotted by a local festival promoter and consequently are returning to play Midi Festival in Beijing to an audience of 20,000. As well as returning to China, the band are also touring Canada and their homeland of Australia this year, with prospects of touring the USA and the UK.

Arcane Saints have had the privilege of opening for bands such as Iron Maiden, Grinspoon, The Trews, Butterfly Effect, Sarah McLeod and Thousand Needles in Red.

The band have received air play on stations such as Triple M and Triple J in Australia and The Rock in New Zealand.

Also, as a result of winning Firebrand Rock Radio's International "Band of the Month" Competition, single "Never Say Die" is currently receiving air play on internet radio stations worldwide.

"Never Say Die' can be purchased via ITUNES & SPOTIFY. All other recorded material can be downloaded free on the band's website
