Mung

MUNG festered into existence on the streets of Winnipeg, Manitoba sometime in 1992. Founded by Johnny Mung and Peeker Von Pancake, the band went through a series of drummers before quickly snatching up that mightiest of skinpounders, Hog Lesspuke.

The band has a ridiculous number of shows under its belt, and has played with a variety of punk legends, including the Dayglo Abortions, MDC, the Ripcordz, and many others.

A quick discography:

  • MUNG (1992)
  • Two Bucks for a Can of Ravioli?!? (1993)
  • Oops...(1994)
  • I Love to Hurt People (1996)
  • We Who Sleep (2006)
  • Careful What You Ask For (2011)
  • Brand Spanking New (2012)
  • The Voices Aren't Real (2012 - website exclusive download only!)

The band went through somewhat of a hiatus between '96 and '05 while Peeker travelled Canada. Songwriting continued, though the band played no gigs, nor did they release any recordings. But like all good dogs, he found his way home; and the mayhem began again.

Now infused with a bold new life, courtesy of new guitarist B-Rex (AKA Satanjip McRottenCrotch), MUNG is storming stages again, and ready to unleash their pent-up aggression on the world. You've been warned...
