Nicky Pearson

I've been singing a long time. It started out as entertainment for my school friends growing up in a small village in Eastern Scotland. I remember getting requests from my friends to sing Celine Dion and Whitney Houston and they loved it. My parents used to have CMT on all the time back then and thats when I fell in love with Country superstars like Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Dixie Chicks. After saving up enough money I bought my first Fender acoustic and started writing.

After arriving in Edmonton I spent a couple years of playing the downtown bar scene in an 80's rock band just to get out and sing, but soon realiszd that country music is where I was supposed to be as an artist and songwriter. After being named a runner up at local singing competition I was invited to sing the Canadian National Anthem at Northland's Chuck Wagon Finals, CBC Music Studios and at the Canada Day Celebrations at Borden Park. Since then, I have been on this passionate personal mission to keep doing what I love so I formed my own band 'Belmont Street' with talented musicians and now friends, Angus McNainy, Bruce Armstrong and Darren MacFadyen also known as "The Silver Hammers". My first recording experience was with the talented Sandro Dominelli, Neil MacDonald, Dustin Roy and Rob Hewes at the beautiful DanLyn Studios and thats where I fell in love with recording my original songs. What a feeling to see a song you wrote come to life! Such a rewarding and fulfilling experience and something I've always wanted to do.

One of my most rewarding achievements was organising the "Rocking For Belle" Fundraiser event in West Edmonton raising $11,000 towards a wheel chair lift van for my sister who's a single mom to my niece who has a severe Cerebral Palsy. Although hard work, it was all worth it knowing my sister and her can to get to and from her many doctors appointments so much more comfortably. I wrote a song for my niece called "Isabelle" which is also up on Reverbnation if you want to hear it. I love giving back to local community and I hope through music I can do more. If I can help or connect to another person through my music, that is truly special.

Right now I am currently finishing off the track I want to release as my first debut single Spring of 2015. I am working with the super creative Scott Greene at Powersound Studios. Being a lover of Rock n'Roll we came up with this country rocky pop flare, bringing in more electric guitars and a 60's inspired beat to the production, making it a little more edgy, but still catching the emotional rollercoaster love story. Stay tuned for this new release, I'm excited!
