Chloe Albert

Chloe Albert is well on her way to becoming acquainted with the rest of Canada one song at a time. Her independently released debut album ‘Dedicated State’ garnered the attention of the Canadian Folk Music Awards, where Chloe took home the ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ Award in 2008. Since then, ‘Dedicated State’ has had continuous radio play on CBC Radio 2 across Canada, charted 3rd on Alberta’s CKUA Radio charts, and charted number one on Lethbridge’s Folk/Roots/Blues charts. Last year, Chloe took home second place in the Calgary’s Folk Music Festival Songwriting Contest for her song ‘Honey Bee’.

As MacEwan University graduate of the Music Program, Chloe was honored with MacEwan’s ‘Distinguished Alumni’ Award for her commendable accomplishments since graduating in 2004, and has also co-written with esteemed composer/arranger Allan Gilliand for MacEwan’s 2009 album release ‘Song from My Heart’.

Since the release of her album in 2008, Chloe has toured all over Canada from Prince Edward Island to Victoria, B.C., performing in listening rooms and house concerts across the nation, in Folk Clubs opening for folk veterans Eliza Gylkison, Luke Doucet, Lynn Miles and Lester Quitzau, and performed at some of Canada’s finest folk festivals including the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, the Stan Rogers Folk Music Festival, and the Mountain View Folk Music Festival.

Most recently, Chloe has traveled been spending some time south of the border showcasing at the International Folk Alliance in Memphis last winter and writing and performing in Nashville where she has been teaming up with writers, honing and expanding upon her songwriting skills. She’ll be returning in June to perform in the Nashville Songwriters Festival and to continue writing with other songwriters.
