Sisters&Brothers

Canada/English (84 mins)

Western Canada Premiere! Edmonton-born filmmaker Carl Bessai is back, completing the trilogy begun with past EIFF favorites, Mothers & Daughters and Fathers & Sons. This time around, Bessai gives us four stories of sibling rivalry, providing all the love, hate, laughing, and screaming that make the relationship between siblings so unique.

'Glee' star (and native Albertan) Cory Monteith gets to show off a more dramatic side, with a memorable performance as a hot young movie star trying desperately to prove to his brother Rory (played by Repeaters' Dustin Milligan) that he’s ‘still the same old guy’. Naturally, fireworks ensue. Bessai regulars Benjamin Ratner, Gabrielle Rose, Tyler Labine, Jay Brazeau, Tom Scholte, and Amanda Crew round out the top-notch ensemble, in this funny - at times savage - look at fame, family, and the fractured bonds shared by sisters and brothers.
