Western Canada Premiere! Former author Marcel Marx has retreated into a voluntary exile in the port city of Le Havre, working happily as a shoe-shiner. He has long-since forgottten his dreams of a literary breakthrough, and has decided to live happily within the daily routine of going to work, hanging out at his favourite bar, and spending time with his wife, Arletty. When she becomes seriously ill and bedridden, Marcel rises against the cold wall of human indifference, using unwavering optimism as his weapon!
