Fools Tongue has been searching for the fine balance between commercial appeal and musical integrity since 2006 when they began their journey together in Edmonton Alberta. Their music went through several stylistic phases before becoming rooted in the Pop Rock tradition (however, elements of Funk, Jazz, and Latin music can not be denied). This band is looking for the average joe who knows the difference between mass produced music and soulful, homegrown, intelligent tunes. Of course tapping your foot and singing along will not be a problem as their sense of melody, harmony, and crowd appeal are dead on! Fools Tongue is passionate about their performances and strives to communicate with, as well as entertain, their audiences. Each song has a story that the audience has to be let in on, and this is what Fools Tongue delivers. Whether it’s dueling percussion, intimate chats with the audience mid song, or simply getting everyone to sing along Fools Tongue turns a concert in to an emotional rush. It is this raw energy that Fools Tongue captured on their first recording and they hope to further hone it in their upcoming release “Identity Crisis,” scheduled to be released late fall.
The brains behind this monster are Luke Ertman, and Jeff Ramsey. Both of these young performers are trained musicians who bring unique and invaluable qualities to the group. Luke’s Chapman Stick, theatrical background and powerful vocals form an unforgettable live show and Jeff’s smooth voice and soulful guitar playing will melt your heart. Fools Tongue has toured Western Canada in support of their first commercial release "A Rough Cut EP," which received local and international air time. They have an online distribution deal with Kerf Music, they will be included on the “Fresh Fruits,” sampler from Oak Apple Records, they will be appearing at the East Coulee Music Festival, 15 Minutes of Fame Music Festival, The Works Music Festival, and are in negotiations for several other festivals for this upcoming summer. Fools Tongue hopes to be able to introduce their music to people nationwide, tour all over North America and have international distribution.
