The JollyGood

Three cousins, bonded by both blood and music, first began playing music inside an empty gymnasium in Sparling Elementary in Camrose, Alberta. That summer of 2009, The JollyGood won the title of Best Band of Camrose in a 3 round battle of the bands. At the end of that summer, the band drifted apart as each band member took a different path in life. After two years of independent ventures, the three cousins (Steven Stalenhoef, Jake Coykendall, and Sam Coykendall) found themselves unsatisfied with their current path in life. A connection that had passed the test of time was embraced, and the band was reformed. They began writing music in the basement of an Edmonton household in June 2011. Two months later, a fourth member entered the band (Cody Anderson) and “The JollyGood” was reborn. Influenced by a combination of various musical genres, The JollyGood created a unique progressive sound, new to the Edmonton music scene. Their first taste of success included winning a battle of the bands in Edmonton, where they reaped the rewards of a trip for 4 to Vegas. Within four months of being together, The JollyGood recorded and released their first ED labeled “17 Downtown” on September 1st, 2011. The Demo CD sold out within the 1st Month of release.

The JollyGood has changed from fooling around in an abandoned gymnasium in Camrose, to producing quality music together in Edmonton. The blood of each band member is pumped to the same beat as our hearts are filled with the same love for our music. The JollyGood continue their quest to write innovative music and win over the hearts and minds of their audience, their fans, and their city.
