The music is passionate; it's drive is heavy. It's been described as lyrically poignant, as metal inspired alternative, and sometimes just plain honest rock.
Hailing from Toronto Ontario, brothers Josh and Luke Hutchinson, Grant Boyer, and Jason Yuricek of The Entropy are continuing to make a serious impact on the Canadian Alt/Rock scene.
Their first EP "Self Titled" was released in 2005, which led to a full length release written, recorded and co-produced by the band one year later. "An Arcane State" was released in 2006, and went on to sell 3000 copies off the stage alone. The leadoff single "Nothin New" garnered radio play locally, as well as on the Ontario college circuit. In support of "An Arcane State" The Entropy toured relentlessly, receiving critical acclaim from the both the industry, and their growing fan base alike.
In 2007 they headed back to the studio to record a new EP. Fuelled by a need to prove their music deserved a chance "The LA Sessions" were recorded in Los Angeles CA, and released in Canada in October 2007. The tracks "One Left" and "Digging Up Your Bones" were featured in various podcasts, television shows, and were instant fan favourites; as a result the boys once again hit the road.
In mid 2008 they took time off to write, and in September 2009 The Entropy began pre-production on a new batch of songs that are collectively the most solid effort by the foursome to date.
In late 2009 they began their recording session at DNA Recording Facilities in Toronto, Ontario.
In late summer 2010 the Entropy takes to the road, with a full Cross Canada Tour.
With "Cities Will Fall", The Entropy are set to prove they are stronger than ever. Not only is the album an overwhelmingly accomplished collection of hard hitting riffs, and intricate themes, but shows a renewed sense of determination.
