Every artist needs a story, at least that’s what they say. Some stories are incredible, others forgettable. To make an impact, an artist needs to offer something inspiring, moving and out of the ordinary. Muneshine has a story to tell.

Originally from Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, Muneshine has come a long way. From first hearing hip hop music at age 9, experimenting with words and turntables in his teens, to travelling the world collaborating with legends in his field and inspiring others, Muneshine’s story is unlike any other Canadian hip hop artist.

Like most Canadian musicians, Muneshine was and is by necessity an independent artist. He is a producer, a writer, an accomplished and accredited mix engineer, and a performer.

Muneshine has found great success outside of Canada. Since 2005, Muneshine has released 3 major label projects in Japan, and contributed production and vocal appearances on countless more. All considered his sales in this territory alone top 30,000. His first release (Phocus – A Vision and a Plan) debuted on HMV Japan’s hip hop charts at #8. Since then, Muneshine has established a strong and loyal fan-base worldwide with releases in the United States, Australia, Korea, The United Kingdom, Brazil and The Netherlands.

Not only has Muneshine released popular projects overseas, he has collaborated with a number of popular hip hop favourites, such as: Pete Rock, Sean Price, DJ Spinna, Buckwild (D.I.T.C.), Guilty Simpson, Rob Swift (of the Executioners) and many more. Muneshine has earned his reputation among these and other artists for his integrity, standards, dedication, and desire to improve and inspire.

In the past two years, Muneshine has established an unstoppable working relationship with fellow-Canadian emcee/producer D-Sisive. The duo recently won SOCAN’s coveted Echo Songwriting award for the song ‘Nobody With A Notepad’ taken from D-Sisive’s album ‘Let This Children Die’. The chemistry between the two is undeniable, and proven through repeat appearances on Canada’s college and community radio charts. D-Sisive’s single, ‘Like This’ (produced by Muneshine) debuted at #1 when released last October. Not only popular with listeners, the song caught the attention of hip hop connoisseurs and taste-makers around the globe such as DJ Premier, DJ Eclipse and many more. Since then they have released the free album ‘Jonestown’ (also reaching #1) across the country and are continuing to work on new material.

In 2010, Muneshine is preparing a number of new projects, featuring both his production and writing/rhyming skills. First and foremost is the Twin Peaks record ‘Kissing Hands & Shaking Babies’. Twin Peaks is Muneshine and Ghettosocks (emcee/producer from Halifax, Nova Scotia). The album features production from both artists, as well as a number of other contributors.

An ambassador for Canadian hip hop, Muneshine has gained experience in both his own country and abroad. He has established himself as a respected artist, and continues to live his dream of creating and promoting honest and timeless music without compromise.
