Bill Damur received his Masters and Bachelor of Music as well as his Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. Mr. Damur has studied with Wilfrid Smith, Christopher Taylor, Alan Clarke, Adrian Brett, and Harlan Green. He has taught at the Alberta College Conservatory since 1983, and performs regularily with several ensembles: Griffin Consort, Virus 23, The Icy-Cool, Chanticleer, The Amati Trio, B.E.A.M.S., and Baroque Restoration Group.
Many of his students have moved up to college level and some are now working musicians. Bill has a scholarly knowledge of flute literature from "Early Music" to the Avant-Garde. He is working to start on his doctorate and has his own radio show "Op. 88" on CJSR. He has finished music for two films, is active in theatre, is well-known as a composer/arranger, clinician, public school educator, and festival adjudicator.
