Wingin' It

"WINGIN' IT" is the duo of singer/songwriter Lori Davidson and keyboardist/composer Rob Lamonica. They've been playing together for several years to packed houses in Mazatlan, Mexico! Their music, which Lori calls "Surtido Rico" or "Rich Assortment" encompasses a full range from her own original songs to contemporary, pop, rock, blues, country, and Latino songs in Spanish, which she is fluent in. Their recent live CD, "En Vivo" features several of the Spanish songs the duo performs.

Rob Lamonica has been playing piano professionally for the past 20 years, most recently 7 nights a week in his hometown of Mazatlan, Mexico where is known as "Mazatlan's Musical Mayor" He is known for his open stages and ability to pull different musicians and styles together. Every show is different. Rob doesn't read music, but has played since he was about 6 years old, thanks to the availability of a piano at home. He plays all styles, hosts a jazz jam once a week, plays country, blues, Latino music, .....almost anything - with his own touch and perspective. In 2002 Rob won the Country Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year has played from Hawaii to Maine, Mexico to Canada. Lori Davidson is a singer songwriter who has been performing and creating music for over three decades. Her early influences were in Blues, Funk, Jazz and 60′s Rock and Soul. She began her full-time music career in the San Francisco North Beach Blues Scene in the early 90′s working with immense Bay Area talents such as Tommy Castro, Johnny Nitro and the Doorslammers, Harvey Mandel and the legendary John Lee Hooker. Her own hard hitting blues project, "Lori Davidson & the Intruders" began its evolution during that time. Their debut CD, "Slow Traffic Keep Right" received a FOUR-STAR review in Blues Access Magazine, and Lori was in the top 20 of unsigned blues artists on for several years running. She and bassist Ken Embrey eventually settled in Tucson, AZ. from where they toured the band throughout the Western Southwestern United States, for six years. Lori has returned to her song writing, acoustic based music and released her second CD, "Who I Am", recording and playing in Mazatlán Mexico where she now works and resides. "Who I Am" is a departure from the blues genre, but not from the influence it has in forming all her compositions. Lori deliver lots of yesterday's and today's pop and rock with magical versions of the late Leonard Cohen, (Hallelujah, Dance Me to the End of Love), Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, Jason Mraz, Passenger, just to name a few! Her newest CD, features widely requested songs in Spanish from contemporary rock to boleros - including an amazing cover of the Colombian rock group Aterciopelados' dynamite song – "Baracunatana"!
