This Conviction

This Conviction is an acoustic duo that is difficult to classify and even harder to find a comparison for. Formed in the spring of 2006, TC was originally and independent four piece progressive rock ensemble. Focusing on pushing the limits of unique structure, without sacrificing the beauty of a sweeping melody, TC made a name for itself in Alberta's Peace region sharing billings with bands such as "Ten Second Epic" and "Art of Dying". After releasing and touring their debut EP "Transparency", the band soon downsized to the two piece format it appears in now.

Having held on to their progressive roots, songwriters Jeremy Gustavson and Shane Seward created a new sound that takes the concept of the acoustic duo outside of any box and away from and notion of what acoustic music is supposed to sound like. With a sound as bold and aggressive as acoustic guitars will allow and vocals with a power to match, TC takes all of their instruments to the verge of explosion every night. Posessing the rare ability to have fit perfectly in a line-up with Canadian metal stars "Protest the Hero" and indie folk veteran "Rob Szabo", this conviction has had something for every audience.
