Heather was born and raised in in a musical family in Alberta Canada and began pursuing a musical career at an early age. After touring Canada for years in various Rock bands, in 2005 she was awarded a grant from Factor Canada for the song “Milly” and went on to record her first studio album in 2006 titled “Every Waking Moment”.  She continued to receive grants to write and produce additional projects including her 2009 release of “Eleven: Eleven” (produced by Russ Klyne) and in March, 2012, and her third album ‘DECOY’ (produced by Stew Kirkwood), featuring musicians from “The Heather McKenzie Band” formed in 2007. She is currently preparing to release her fourth album titles 'Moth to Flame', release date TBA.
