Caity Fisher was born out west. Her mother was the star of a travelling freak show and was impregnated by an anonymous party. Unable to financially support herself and a child and especially not keen on raising her child in a circus environment, Caity's mother left her on the doorstep of an Edmontonian philanthropist who eagerly took the baby into his care. At the age of five Caity ran away from home to join a caravan of entertainers where she was taught to dance, sing and play several instruments. Influenced by the environment of her eccentric surrogate clan she was exposed to all forms of culture, was well read in obscure non-traditional poetry, philosophical theories, and cutting edge scientific research. She was schooled in the practices of astrology, southern american voodoo, zen buddhist and vedic philosophy, as well as several others. While travelling through the central Kootenay area with her caravan at the age of twelve, she abandoned her party and entered into her first marriage with the esteemed shaman of an ambiguous aboriginal tribe. She spent several happy years with her husband, comfortably adjusting to the lifestyle. However, on her seventeenth birthday tragedy struck when her husband was fatally wounded in a battle between himself and his brother. How the conflict arose is still unknown. Caity, widowed and heart-broken, went into a deep transcendental state facilitated by a secret recipe only her husband had used to connect himself with the ultimate spirit and guide his shamanistic practice. She was blessed with a great vision of the salmon swimming up the stream of the galactic fabric of existence. Travelling to the original site of her spiritual birth, she was greeted with the image of a great black dog. It said that she must seek her fate in the prairie. Sneaking away in the middle of the night she caught a freight train and landed herself right in the hot bed of Edmontonian culture. Not accustomed to city life and unable to work she made a paltry daily sum singing in the streets until a young, handsome benefactor invited her to become part of a small local record label, Labrador City Records. Enabling her to record and perform her original compositions as well as introducing her to the musical community, Labrador City Records had Caity primed for success. Although Labrador City was a cornerstone of the new life she had made for herself, the administration was lacking focus and direction. After three small releases under the Labrador City label, Caity was recruited to rap sensation Joe "The Joe" Gurba's label, Old Ugly Recording Company. Being the most comprehensive independent record label in Edmonton with several artists of many flavours and backed by the solid support of The Joe, Caity found an environment that incubated her creative progress. She now calls Edmonton and Old Ugly home, and continues to release and perform new material.
