A few years ago I returned home from a visit to Saskatchewan with my mother's acoustic guitar. She said I could borrow it from her for awhile, I have yet to return it. Since acquiring the guitar, I've picked it up here and there recording rough ideas and outlines of songs but nothing really complete. The Fight turns them into something and I am really glad to have them around.
I found my brothers at different times. I've known Caleb Neumeier for years, we've been down highways driving by flashlight, we've worked together, lived together, ate together, fought together and fought each other. Erik Grice and I met while working at a music store, keeping in touch and running into each other at shows here and there. I'd shown him some of the stuff I was working on and he offered to start a project with me. He brought two golden strangers with him, Devin Fortier and Todd Andrews. We're no longer strangers.
We've been building together since the tail end of winter, working hard down in the basement. We're recording at a cabin in the woods at a lake, with plans to release a record by late summer 2010. Together we are The Fight and we're just getting started.
GOTTA MOVE TO THE MUSIC.
