Cappella Artimesia

Based in Bologna, Italy, this 10-piece ensemble makes its Edmonton debut as part of its first Canadian tour. Since 1991 the group has dedicated itself to studying and performing vocal music from Renaissance Italy, masses and motets written for and by nuns of famed musical convents. Once deemed "forbidden," these musical treasures have been re-discovered and performed to great acclaim by this ensemble.
