Dawn Tyler Watson

She's a six-time consecutive winner of the Quebec Lys Blues Award for Best Female Artist, and her last recording effort entitled "en duo" with guitarist extrordinaire, Paul Deslauriers, took home the 2009 Album of the Year Award. She is also a multiple nominee of the prestigious Canadian Maple Blues Award in numerous categories including Best New Artist, Entertainer of the Year, and acoustic Album of the Year, twice earning herself the title of Female Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2007. She's also received a Canadian Folk Music Award nod for Best Contemporary Vocalist last year, and on the International front, a Screaming Jay Hawkins Award for Live Performance, and a Trophées France Blues for International Female Artist of the Year.
In addition to numerous theatre, television and screen credits, in 2004 Dawn earned herself the lead role starring opposite famed Quebec heartthrob actor Roy Dupuis, in the movie Jack Paradise - Les Nuits de Montreal. Her big-screen debut received as much critical acclaim as her stage performances, as did the films Jutra nominated soundtrack on which she was the featured vocalist.
Dawn continues to tour extensively with upcoming concerts and festivals in Moscow and France. And recently, her duo with Paul was selected to compete in this years International Blues Competition in Memphis in February. Her third album (second with Paul Deslauriers) is slated for release this spring; and when not on the road, she has been honing her jazz chops back home in Montreal, working towards yet another recording project set to begin later this year.
