Clayton Bellamy

In an age where everything seems to be plastic, disposable and instantaneous, Clayton Bellamy's latest music offers up sentiments that are real, solid, and timeless. Influenced by sounds ranging from the Stones, Tom Petty and the Boss to the Black Crowes and Steve Earle, the album is a throwback to the days of straight-up rock. Back when guitars were used like voices to cry out in protest, wail against the machine, or even just lament the state of the world in 4/4 time. The first track of the project, "Goodbye America," sets the tone for the entire CD with its soulful vocals, driving guitars, and pounding rhythms. It was written as a lament of unrequited love with the mistress of the American intense emotional ride chasing the allure and seduction of a beauty that was, is and will always be as fleeting as it is addictive for the open hearted dreamer. Clayton's lyrical reactions towards what many people are feeling are a common theme throughout this album, from the tangible frustration and anger on the title track to the opposite end of the spectrum, the beautiful soulful sentiments of "Love Lead The Way."
