Danielle Lowe

17 year-old Edmonton country music singer/songwriter, Danielle Lowe, is one of the most active young performers in the province of Alberta and has been a strong community contributor, donating her time and her voice to numerous non- profit organizations. Over the past several years, Danielle has shared her talent at hundreds of events for dozens of local, national and international charities.

In addition, Danielle’s big voice and dynamic stage presence have been featured at a number of high-profile events in Edmonton, including the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Oilers Hockey, Oil Kings, Edmonton Indy, the Premiere’s dinner, Lois Hole Harvest Celebration and the list goes on. Danielle has also been a favorite at several festivals and other outdoor events including Camrose’s Big Valley Jamboree and has opened for acts such as Michelle Wright and High Valley. Over the past few years, Danielle has been featured on radio and television around the country.

In 2009, Danielle wrote and recorded a song called ‘Jesse’ that she donated to the Little Warriors non-profit organization, and which was adopted as the theme song for their ‘Stand Up For Our Kids Campaign’. She is also one of a trio of artists that co-wrote the theme song for Edmonton’s Jerry Forbes Centre, home to Santa’s Anonymous and 20 other local charity groups as. Danielle’s work for non-profit organizations resulted in her being awarded the Catholic School Board’s 2010 Superintendant’s Award of Excellence as well as a nomination for the AFP Youth Philanthropy Award that same year. In response to the work she has done, Danielle was honoured by Edmonton’s Global Television as a 2011/ 12 ‘Woman of Vision’, celebrating the way in which she uses her talent and passion for music to support our community.

Danielle's talent and hard work has translated into unparalleled competition success. She is the only singer in Edmonton’s history to win all three major vocal competitions as a junior in the same year: Futures Fest, Country Vocal Spotlight and Northern Star. In November of 2008 Danielle also became the youngest singer in history to be crowned the Grand Winning Act of Northlands’ Country Vocal Spotlight (youth/adult divisions overall). She also competed in Tennessee’s esteemed North American Country Music Associations, International competition in 2009 where she won awards for top Female Artist, Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year. Danielle earned nominations in both 2011 and 2012 from the Alberta Country Music Association for Female Artist of the Year and from the Edmonton Music Awards, both for Female Artist of the Year and Country Music Album of the year and she was ecstatic to take home the award for the 2012 Country Music Album of the Year. This year, Danielle has been nominated for 3 Edmonton Music Awards.

While working at developing her fan base here in Canada, Danielle is also busy building a worldwide audience on YouTube with a subscribership of nearly 35,000 and is quickly becoming known for her creativity in bringing both her original and cover music to life on the screen. She was recently invited to perform in an international concert in London, UK, with a number of other talented YouTube artists from around the world where they raised money for youth programs in the UK. As a result of her appearance in this concert, she has now been booked to play a similar concert in the Netherlands.

Danielle’s first CD - ‘Off Limits’, was released in May of 2011 to a sold-out crowd at the Edmonton Event Centre and she received a warm welcome to country music radio in Canada with three single releases from that album being picked up by dozens of stations across the country. After being the youngest artist in Alberta to receive a RAWLCO recording grant, Danielle’s second album, ‘Patient’ has been officially released along with two single releases to radio.
