From the group of film deviants known as Astron 6 comes this homage to 1980's sci fi - specifically the cheesier entries in the genre. Inspired by Charles Band's Eliminators, MANBORG is the story of a soldier killed in battle against the forces of Count Draculon who is brought back to life as the futuristic titular warrior. He teams up with a crew made up of genre film stereotypes - Australian punker, a knife wielding anime chick, a kung-fu master - to take on Draculon and free the planet. Director Steve Kostanski uses a blend of outstanding makeup, homegrown CGI, and even stop motion animation in this rousing action-comedy.
