Well...

I must be old...

... as I've stated many times before that I would like to 'start a little blues project' when I am 'old.'

I don't feel particularly old... maybe a little warn around the edges... but based solely on the idea that I would finally get around to starting a little blues project when I got 'old'... the fact that I've finally done it must make me old.

Perhaps you're only as old as you feel... I've always said 'I'm old where it counts,' so perhaps you're reading the ramblings of the oldest 28 year-old man around.

Regardless... a bag of blues guitar tricks somewhere along the rock & roll trail I've been blazing since the upper-middle 90's. I still make all the bluesy rock & roll noise there is to make in the band The Rumble Strippers... but the kind of blues sound I'm after is gritty, finger-picking, pre-swing blues. Up-beat & fun rhythms with dark & sadistic undertones...

I've got nothing against a 12-bar shuffle... I love it, but I like to get outside the box, throw some jazzier licks in (without turning it into jazz) maybe squeeze a little 'New Orleans' cajun style on top.

Anyway, I hope you like it, buy my records, come to my shows, drink too much, fall down, and genuinely have a good time... but if you don't, I'm not worried because you'll be the one who doesn't know where the party's at. Not me.
