The 12 song “Love & Other Messes” was produced by Vriend, along with bassist James Forrest and engineer/guitarist Alan Wall as co-producers. Vriend's band includes 2 time 2010 East Coast Music Award nominee Coco Love Alcorn and Folk Music Emerging Artist of the Year nominee Chloe Albert on background vocals, members of the platinum selling Adam Gregory band, Robin Pelletier (guitar) and David Aide (organ), Thom Bennett on drums, Forrest on bass, Wall on additional guitar, and Vriend on keys and vocals. “If You Were Here”-- a reminiscent tune about the late Jeff Buckley-- is a haunting co-written duet with Vriend's 2009 tour mate, Matt Epp. Although the styles range between Americana, soul, folk, and R&B, the album presents itself as one cohesive masterpiece.
