Foundation Concerts is pleased to announce The Best of Alberta Music Roadshow, in November and December in Alberta. This provincial concert tour is a fitting way for some of Alberta’s top musical acts to wrap up what was a landmark year for each of them.

The momentum hasn’t stopped for Colleen Brown since she re-released her album "Foot In Heart" with Emm Gryner's Dead Daisy Records & Outside Music earlier this year. In a matter of a few months she has toured across Canada with the Crash Test Dummies, opened several Canadian dates for Hawksley Workman, performed alongside artists such as Jakob Dylan, Brandi Carlile, and Patrick Watson at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, and appeared on the CBC Bands at The Grand TV series. Previously, this talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist received the Alberta Emerging Artist Award and was a finalist in the CBC Song Quest. She has been called "a national treasure in the making - along the lines of Joni Mitchell, Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot or k.d.lang." (The Edmonton Journal). This is all for good reason; Colleen writes great songs that she sings with a sincere and beautiful voice. Let’s not forget her fantastic supporting band…

Jeff Stuart & The Hearts are carving a distinctive path with the intricate yet subtly arranged roots-pop music they served up on Black Dogs Blue Giants; the record was more than a standout release in Alberta where it received tremendous support from CKUA and CBC, it was a standout Canadian release of the year climbing independent radio charts across the country.

Live, camaraderie and musical inquisitiveness direct these talented players beyond just a live restatement of the album, and this year they were fan favorites at many big music events including the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. CKUA Radio called their music “elegant, sophisticated, daring, and brilliantly creative” and The Edmonton Journal noted that “Alt-country might be the starting point for The Hearts, but only in an allusive way, almost as if they decided to reconstruct the genre after hearing about it rather than actually hearing it. They're baroque rather than barroom.”
