Gobble Gobble

Gobble Gobble

Edmonton, AB
Electronic / Pop

GOBBLE GOBBLE is the hyperactive, futuristic techno-pop project of San Francisco via Canada pop experimentalist Cecil Frena. Caught in a strange dialogue between harsh noise, future-leaning electronic music, indie rock signifiers and mainstream pop, GOBBLE GOBBLE's sounds are unorthodox to say the least. Stuttering, blown-out and chopped guitar peals, erratic, bubbling synth arpeggios,  ... Read more

Weird Canada is proud to welcome GOBBLE GOBBLE back from their six month infinitour. And we're bringing them home in style by organizing a full blown mini festival!!

You will see GOBBLE GOBBLE like you've never seen them before... in full energetic flavour! For first-timers this is your chance to bear witness to the most unbelievably fluorescent performance you've never seen. May your brains, ears, and skin make it through the sweat, colour, and love!

Flying in (specially for this show) from the eastern tip of Canada is Halifax's exuberant fun-core hyperbolist RICH AUCOIN. After touring with Hot Hot Heat (and getting everyone to dance ecstatically at 9:30pm) Rich has perfected his wild video-projection dance-marathon and is sure to deliver the performance of a lifetime. Worthy of his own headlining status, he's coming in to get you all super juiced up for GOBBLE GOBBLE.

Joining this hectic mess is Lethbridge's Fist City - everyone's favorite methcity punks who just released a phenomenal LP on Deadbeat Records. And who better to kick Fist CIty off than Edmonton's newest art-punk nihilists YOUNG SANTAS!!! (They're young and they're Santa-y)

Kicking the evening off will be Jom Comyn and Jaded Hipster Choir. The JHC has just released a new album care-of the lovely folks from Old Ugly. It's called Pill Weekend and we assure you, you're going to want these (entirely legal and safe alternatives) pills after the euphoric display of energy occurring on Saturday!
