Jenn Durrant was Alberta born and raised on Vancouver Island. She doesn’t remember a day when performing was not a part of her life. She started dancing at age 3 and figure skating and age 6. Both diciplines sparked a love for music. Before long, she was playing the family piano and playing flute in the school band and beyond. Her love for singing surfaced at age 16, when she landed the role of Jan in a production of the musical “Grease”. Post-Secondary, she attended Malaspina University-College on the beautiful sunshine coast to study Classical vocal music. She fell in love with the classical style and experimented with a variety of repetoire. Jenn never lost her love for classical music but her free spirit and wide range of vocal ability took her in several other directions. Eventually, her dreams took her beyond the shores of the island. She found her way to Calgary, Alberta where she started to write her own music and play live with other local musicians. After a few years working and trying to hone her songwriting craft she moved northward to revisit her roots in her hometown of Edmonton. Jenn completed studies of contemporary music at Grant MacEwan College and is raising her son in the Edmonton area. She now operates a successful music school in Sherwood Park, Alberta and instructs private lessons in theory, voice and piano. She has also had the honor and privilege of adjudicating at various music festivals and contests. After a lifetime of experience and years in the classroom, she is an active member of the arts community in Alberta, both on stage and behind the scenes. All-Ages No Cover
