1984 is a powerful depiction of the horrors of man's fate in a society where Big Brother is always watching and where everything that is not prohibited is compulsory, this is a
ferocious and provocative adaptation of one of the most prophetic works of literature of the last century.

Based on the book by George Orwell
Adapted by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall, and William A Miles, Jr.
Director: Monica Roberts

"In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act." ― George Orwell
Based on the iconic novel by George Orwell, 1984 brings us the story of Winston Smith, a cog in the giant machine state of Oceania. Physically and mentally under the omnipresent eye of Big Brother, Winston has been caught struggling for scraps of love and freedom in a world awash with distrust and violence.
People turn to 1984 in times of political discomfort and uncertainty, to explore their fears. The show's power is it reflects the concerns the audience brings in with it; be it doubt in government systems, the role of truth in media, the preservation of individual rights, or the power of fear filled rhetoric in rallying the masses. 1984 endures as a novel because as the balance of power moves and shifts, humans will always want to find their place in it.
