Folk / Jazz Vancouver, BC Website
Angela Inglis

A simple Prairie girl trying to understand the complexity of the human mind and heart, Angela's voice transports you to places inside yourself that you had forgotten existed. Warm and intimate, her quiet intensity slips into the listener like an old memory that simultaneously comforts and provokes. As philosophical as they are emotional, her songs inquire into meaning, feeling and experience.

Folk mingles with chamber music, Canadiana and hints of jazz on Angela's upcoming release, Echo. The ten-song album features the multi-talented John Raham (Frazey Ford, The Be Good Tanyas) as co-producer and drummer, along with a roster of gifted musicians borrowed from celebrated, Juno award-winning bands Dan Mangan and Pugs and Crows. Each player’s distinctive sound is woven artfully and sensitively through the compositions, making every track a unique experience. Look forward to hearing the trumpet work of JP Carter, keys and accordion by Tyson Naylor, cello by Peggy Lee, guitar and banjo magic a la Oldseed and Darren Parris on electric bass. Cameos by others include Ben Brown (cajon), Martin Reisle (classical guitar), Elliot Vaughan (viola), Tim Tweedale (weissenborn) and Edward Porter (double bass).

A video for the first single, Moving Target, written and directed by Angela and shot by award-winning filmmaker Jessica Han (www.pulchritudeproductions.com) will be ready to dazzle your eyes and ears in July 2014.

Whether sweet and melancholy, dark and haunting or innocent and hopeful, Angela's song-stories are revealing and insightful.
