
Sangeeta Bandopadhyay’s musical journey into Khayal Gayaki began under the tutelage of Late Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri of Kolkata. She later trained with Ustad Munawar Ali Khan of Patiala Gharana (son of the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan) and later with her father-in-law Pandit Kamal Bandyopadhyay of Ustad Amir Khan’s Indore Gharana. Sangeeta’s style is marked by intricate Vistars, firmly grounded in the Raga, stunning rhythmic variations in Bat & Boltan, and effortless Tans.
