From a young age, JD "Dizzy" Cutting has worked to keep his balance in a world that spins wildly around him. At the age of 7, he and his family left Canada to pursue a life half way across the world, in Muscat, Oman. JD would do his best to deal with the adversity of his new home, finding influence in snippets of Western media and music. No inspiration would be more powerful than his first glimpse of 2Pac's "California Love", spied on an MTV satellite feed. In that moment, an instant love and appreciation of hip hop was gilded - A foundation for his life long love affair with music.
Dizzy returned to Canada, and began honing his craft, writing, recording and performing as much as possible. After pursuing a mentorship with Toronto's MC Oz (Sony/BMG), he released his debut solo EP entitled "G5 Dreams", and his sophomore mixtape, "In The Meantime". This gave rise to a myriad of performance opportunities, including opening spots with Juvenile, Joe Budden, D12, Common, WC, E40, Big Sean and more. These opportunities culminated with Dizzy's first North American tour, as the official opening act for Bone Thugs N' Harmony in late 2012.
Re-energized from the momentum of his first tour, Dizzy quickly began compiling work for his next challenge - a full length solo album release entitled U Feelin Dizzy Yet?, which includes features from Ace Hood (We The Best/YMCMB), Krayzie Bone (Bone Thugs N Harmony) and Kevin Cossom (RCA Records). This release sparked a new tour opportunity with The Dog Pound Gang in 2013, featuring Dizzy on 10 Canadian tour dates, as well as interest from A&R's at 604 Records.
More recent highlights include brand-new videos featuring Kurupt, Caine and Justina Valentine, as well as performances at SXSW 2015 (Austin, TX), New School Rules 2015 (Rotterdam) and a 2015 West Coast tour with Def Jam A&R Big Heff. Dizzy's first major solo mixtape, Been Dizzy (Released October 27th, 2015) has been received with rave response, with 25,000 streams and over 2,000 downloads, with his most recent singles garnering over 50,000 streams on Nerve DJs Radio.
Efforts are currently underway to organize a Dizzy US tour for March 2016 - In the meantime, look for a brand new follow-up mixtape, Been Dizzy II: Double Vision is due to release February 2016, with features including Ace Hood, Krayzie Bone, Kurupt, Caine, Justina Valentine, and Kevin Cossom.
