Lemon Bucket Orkestra

From Toronto to New York, Budapest to Berlin, audiences around the world are hailing the Lemon Bucket Orkestra as folk music revolutionaries. Since their inception four years ago, the band has grown from its initial quartet of buskers to a fifteen-piece guerilla folk force with an army of fans at home and abroad. For those discovering the band, one experience is all it takes. Their shows are more than concerts; they're celebrations of ancient tradition and culture expressed with an explosive punk spirit rarely contained by four walls. Ecstatic revellers erupt into the streets, club shows transform into euphoric parades, and festival crowds find a manic musical inferno suddenly in their midst. The relentless energy of the band is beyond infectious; new and longtime fans alike speak of a liberating experience found nowhere else.

The list of LBO's accomplishments in the last two years is staggering. Their d├ębut album "Lume, Lume" has garnered a Juno nomination, Four Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, and a SiriusXM Indie award nomination. They've travelled to Eastern Europe three times, playing in eight countries and sharing some of the largest festival stages on the continent with luminaries Marko Markovic, Shantel and the Bukovina Club Orkestar, Taraf De Haidouks, and Fanfare Ciocarlia. They've become local legends in their hometown of Toronto. They've gained worldwide media attention for a Youtube video of them playing onboard a delayed Air Canada flight, which racked up over 250,000 views in three days. They have appeared in the BBC documentary Klezmer! and the award-winning Canadian documentary Let's Make Lemonade as the face of a brave new generation of folk musicians who see no borders, no rules and no limits.
