Keith Rempel discovered his life passion for music in the summer following his first year at the University of Alberta, when he was asked to go to Saskatoon for six weeks to play bass for a local jazz choir.  Spending breaks jamming with other musicians, Rempel realized that he was happiest when performing and playing music and decided that he would pursue a music career.

His talents and skill developed as he studied in the Grant MacEwan music program, where he focussed on mastering the acoustic stand-up bass -- an interest that emerged from playing his first electric bass guitar as a teenager.

This talented musician shores up numerous jazz and latin groups in Edmonton and even occasionally plays a country gig.

The first blind graduate of the Grant MacEwan program, Rempel's instinct for pitch is extraordinary and his good ear and sense of his surroundings helps him blend seamlessly with his other performers.
