Worst Days Down (Acoustic)

Ben Sir aka Worst Days Down never planned to perform or tour acoustically, but life rarely cares for our plans. While volunteering with a wildlife organization in rural Guatemala, Sir found himself whittling time away with a pen and a guitar, writing songs and stories about his travels and experiences travelling and volunteering in Central America. Upon returning to Canada, his love of travel and music didn’t stay dormant for long and he quickly began performing and touring. In his short time performing as Worst Days Down, Ben has played throughout Canada, The United States, Mexico and Central America, opening for notable acts such as Chuck Ragan, Russ Rankin, The Flatliners and Living With Lions. He hopes to use his music and writing to continue travelling in hopes of raising money and awareness for ARCAS, the Guatemalan wildlife organization he volunteered with.

Now, Worst Days Down is releasing his debut full-length Money, God, and Other Drugs, an album of travel songs written about Central America and his subsequent touring. It will be released on brand new Edmonton label Manatees And Jack-O-Lanterns (named after Sir’s two favorite things,) started with friend and former band-mate Ben Olson. The album is a precursor of an ambitious project, a book of travel stories with an album of more wanderlust soaked songs inside the cover. With the record in hand, Worst Days Down is only becoming more active, increasing his touring that will take him across Canada and back through the United States this fall.
