Indio Saravanja was born in Argentina, but spent his formative years in Canada's North. Starting out as a street performer, Indio honed his craft and eventually found himself playing New York City, courtesy of his friendship with the late Jeff Buckley. Four albums later, Saravanja continues to add to his Roots-Folk-Rock repertoire by re-acquainting himself with his South American heritage, using instruments such as the Andean Charango. Indio has been featured on most national CBC radio shows since his first release, and his music has been in rotation internationally on leading college and independent stations. He has opened shows for and shared stages with Bruce Cockburn, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Sylvia Tyson, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, and many others. Most recently, he won a First Place prize at The 2012 Calgary Folk Festival Song Competition, and released a rocking new album entitled Travel On. Indio can be found on
